The Nobel Laureate Mother Teresa Charitable Trust (MTCT) was founded in 1997, inspired by the extraordinary life and enduring legacy of Saint Mother Teresa. Following her passing on 5 September 1997, the overwhelming outpouring of love and gratitude from millions across the world profoundly moved Dr. G. K. Dhas, our Founder and Managing Trustee, along with a group of compassionate individuals who shared her vision of selfless service. Inspired by Mother Teresa's unwavering commitment to the poorest and the most vulnerable, they
established MTCT with a singular purpose to continue her mission of serving humanity with compassion, dignity, and unconditional love. Guided by the belief that even the smallest act of kindness can create lasting change, the Trust was founded to be "a drop in the vast ocean of humanitarian service". Since its inception, MTCT has remained committed to carrying forward this founding vision, reaching out to vulnerable communities with compassion and living by its enduring motto, "Service to Mankind is Service to God".
